Job Mission

Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering is responsible for the specification and the design of ASML products.
In this sector, the Test and Integration group in the software department specifies, executes and controls the testing and integration of the various software sub-systems into a software release.

Job Description

The test and integration group relies heavily on automation for testing and integration. In this assignment you will contribute functionality to improve the availability and efficiency of the automated test infrastructure.
The test-infrastructure is in use 24/7 for multiple sites, so you will also participate in the quality processes (impact analysis, software-design, implementation and review) that avoid downtime on the test-infrastructure itself.

Tasks during the internship (actual content depends on internship duration and start-date):

  • Improve metrics to detect, locate, report and automatically act on test-infrastructure issues
  • Ensure correct start-states for tests on testbenches
  • Add controls to avoid wasting test-capacity on invalid tests (duplicate tests, invalid test-combinations, test re-runs, gating before expensive test-infra).
  • Setup automatic testing for test-infrastructure itself
  • Automate result-analysis to reduce manual efforts

Education

You are a bachelor or master’s student in Computer Science or a related discipline. You have experience with installing or administering Linux. In addition you have knowledge of Python, PHP, Javascript and HTML; knowledge of Version Control (Git, SVN); and knowledge of Object-Oriented programming. You are interested in quality (coding style, maintainability) and in standardization, software re-use. Furthermore, your communication skills in English are proficient.
This is a graduation internship for 5 days a week with a minimum duration of 5 months.

We build some of the most amazing machines that you will ever see, and the software to run them. Never satisfied, we measure our performance in units that begin with pico or nano.
We believe we can always do better. We believe the winning idea can come from anyone. We love what we do – not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard.

Students: Getting ready for real-world R&D
