Introduction to the job

We are a high-tech company and leading supplier to the semiconductor industry. We manufacture the complex lithography machines that chip manufacturers use to produce integrated circuits or computer chips. What we do is at the heart of all electronic devices that inform, entertain and connect us. More than 17,000 employees develop and manufacture key components for ASML lithography systems at our facilities in the Netherlands.

It is essential that ASML's property, plant and equipment, buildings, real estate and services are maintained at a consistently high level in order to further develop our (worldwide) facilities and the significant growth targets associated with it. The Corporate Real Estate (CRE) organization is a centralized department which is responsible for CRE activities worldwide, serving >25,000 employees. In order to manage business processes in a good manner, CRE is highly dependent on reliable data, analytics and application management.

As the manager Data, Analytics & Applications (CPO) you are responsible for all the data management, information/analytics solutions and applications of CRE. You enable the business processes of CRE by providing excellent products and services. You support the CRE staff (highest level of decision-making) in the development towards mature data/analytics products, directly contributing to the strategic goals like enabling growth, productivity (uptime of factories), real estate strategy and (cost)efficiency. Through stakeholder management you identify the needs in the different departments of CRE and you actively bring developments from outside in, in order to mature the CRE organization.

Your responsibilities are divided into 3 domains: data management, FAM/PO and Analytics & Reporting. Applications are primarily managed by IT, but in some cases very business specific. You are responsible for the functional management of these applications, representing the voice of the CRE business and act as the Chief Product Owner for the IT managed applications. The other areas (data management activities, analytics and data science) are executed by the team itself. You ensure that CRE develops mature data management processes and provide mature analytics & reporting services to the CRE departments. In order to do so, you work closely with other departments such as the Central Data Office of ASML, the Innovation Lab and the Information management Competence center. For the analytics activities, CRE works closely together with the DevOps team of IT. The Product Owner of CRE reports directly into you.

Role and responsibilities

Your core responsibility is to manage a team of 11 direct reports in the Netherlands and enable them to execute their activities in an optimal manner. Indirectly you are responsible for the data management activities in other regions as well (35+ employees in matrix organization with roles of data steward, key-user or data quality specialist). Your team consists out of 3 sub-teams with different roles:

  • Data management: Data Domain Manager, Data SME’s and Data Quality Experts
  • Functional Application Management: Product Owners/FAM specialists, Trainer
  • Reporting & Analytics: BI/Analytics Domain Manager, PO Reporting, Data Scientist

The Domain Managers of the sub-teams act as the senior specialists in their field and are your trusted advisors/right hand.

You will report into the Director CRE Facilities & Maintenance and are part of the management team. The team that falls under your responsibility is expected to grow in the future.
