ASML Berlin GmbH (formerly Berliner Glas GmbH) is a major ASML R&D and manufacturing site, with expertise in optics and wafer chuck technology. Over 1,200 employees work at ASML Berlin in Germany. They develop and produce several key components for ASML lithography systems, including wafer tables and clamps, reticle chucks and mirror blocks.

ASML is a leading supplier to the semiconductor industry. The company provides chipmakers with hardware, software and services to mass produce the patterns of integrated circuits (microchips). Together with its partners, ASML drives the advancement of more affordable, more powerful, more energy-efficient microchips.
In our high-tech small production runs, single part and prototype production, you will support us in the high-precision manufacture of optical components, assemblies and systems made of glass, glass ceramics and ceramics.

In our "Research & Technology" division, you will be conducting research in an industrial environment, which will include the basic principles for developing new components as well as the measuring and production technologies needed for the production processes. You will be working in interdisciplinary teams, have access to modern equipment and research laboratories and cooperate with institutes and universities. You will develop concepts for the next generations of our key components and work on making them real using new technologies. To do this, we are growing rapidly and are looking for new talent to join us in pushing technology to new frontiers.

Role and responsibilities

  • Converting your knowledge of electrostatic measuring technology into practical and innovative measuring technologies as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Developing measuring concepts and processes for studying electrostatic wafer fixtures that will include planning, implementing and evaluating feasibility studies

  • Developing and procuring (including preparing the specifications) measuring systems for internal customers in our research, product development and manufacturing divisions

  • Organizational and technical project management for procuring, developing and cooperating with our external partners

  • Data analysis of measurement systems and establishing the software requirements for the automatic evaluation processes

  • Planning, implementing and evaluating measurement system analyses (MSA)

Education and experience

  • Successfully completed studies in physics, electrical engineering, physical engineering or an engineering related discipline (masters / diploma / doctorate)

  • Sound knowledge of modern measuring methods for studying surface potentials, e.g. electrostatic force microscopy (EFM) and electrostatic voltmeters (ESVM)

  • Good data analysis knowledge from using tools such as Matlab or Python

  • Laboratory work and high voltage and ultra-high vacuum technology experience will also be an advantage

  • Experience in specifying, selecting and officially accepting electrostatic measurement technology

  • Independent and structured way of working combined with communication skills

  • High degree of innovativeness, self-initiative and creativity

  • Very good knowledge of German and English
