ASML has an extensive supply chain that holds an important factor in the quality of our products. Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) – as part of the Development & Engineering (D&E) sector - maintains and develops the relation with suppliers with the purpose to create an optimal engineering collaboration between the suppliers and ASML to ensure manufacturability of parts of the ASML systems.SQE works closely together with suppliers & ASML development teams to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the product generation process, in alignment with the ASML project plan. The means and methods of SQE are managed in the D&E group SQE Means and Methods.

Role and responsibilities

As part of the staff of the D&E Reliability department, you will closely work with the management of the D&E Quality. You have a strong interface with your colleagues across sectors (Sourcing & Supply Chain, Manufacturing), all SQE leaders world-wide and relevant representatives of the D&E line organization and product development projects. You will contribute to Reliability department and Quality domain mission and objectives.

Group Leader

  • Direct manager of a team of 15 people
  • Responsible for all aspects of people management:recruitment, training, performance management, coaching/mentoring, project assignments, budgets.
  • Act as a people leader by sharing your vision and setting direction for the group.
  • Stakeholder management throughout the Supplier Quality area in ASML and drive x-sector improvement programs in the area of Supplier Quality
  • Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement business priorities within the group, explain the relationship to ASML’s mission, vision and values and motivate people to commit to these objectives by achieving group specific goals
  • Manage and continuously improve the performance and output of the group based on the objectives KPI’s.
  • Ensure quality of operation of your group by reviewing of solutions proposed, procedures, documentation delivered by the group.

Competence owner

  • Competence owner of Supplier Quality Assurance (TC-0034)
  • Lead the global SQE Managers team in D&E in order to fulfill the business needs by aligning and improving SQE way-of-working, via bi-weekly alignment meetings (VHV, US, Asia) and 1:1 where required
  • Own the SQE M&M improvement roadmap and drive for global embedding of improved ways of working with the goal to have business ready to adopt the impact in a sustainable way
  • Actively maintain SQA roadmap by connecting to cross sector stakeholders and the SQE community to leverage shopfloor process innovations, discuss & prioritize in SQE competence staff and adjust where required
  • Build up in-depth knowledge Supplier Quality means & methods for your team, your network and for yourself and ensure that relevant industrial standards are incorporated in the ASML way-of-working
  • Continuously advocate sharing of best practices via key users, knowledge sharing sessions, newsletters, trainings and visiting SQE team meetings

Education and experience

  • MSc or PhD in a technical discipline, such as mechanical engineering, mechatronics or (applied) physics.
  • At least 10 years management and practical experience with product development in a technical (complex) environment
  • Experience in managing a group of technical professionals either as Team Lead, project manager or group/line manager.
  • Experience in leading a global team and experience in leading a team without a formal reporting structure.
  • Technical knowledge related to ASML technology
  • Knowledge of Supplier Quality methods. Six Sigma Black Belt is an advantage.
