Job Mission

ASML US, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and business teams are critically dependent on their ability to leverage enterprise / business process data from internal business systems and applications, from suppliers, and from customers to run, optimize, and improve our business operations and services.The processing, enrichment, and consumption of this data is essential to improve business processes, drive operational performance improvements and continuously increase efficiencies in customer service and business operations.

The mission of this position is to understand, extend, and enable consumption of the ASML enterprise / business process data foundation in order to realize business benefits and improvements to support our aggressive business growth and new requirements in business insight, business capabilities, and integration as well as technical data volume, data processing, and trusted data enablement for ASML US teams.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

This role is based in San Diego. The selected candidate will be part of the ASML IT Solution Delivery Analytics US team and be responsible for documentation and logging of existing data assets and the connections between them in support of our Data Governance program. This will include cataloging existing data sets, data elements and existing reports, as well as visualizing the connections between them through diagrams. The Data Governance program is critical to understand our enterprise data landscape essentially providing insight about our data assets and landscape. The selected candidate will play a leading role in creating visibility that drives simplification and adoption of various data assets.

ASML is a crucial player in a fast-moving semiconductor industry which means change is constant. You will work with your team to capture the constant and dynamic refinement of business priorities and data & analytics user stories. Together with your team you will work constantly to drive ASML’s ambition by building a modern Data & Analytics platform and data foundation, using modern DevOps and Cloud components and leveraging the Agile mindset fully.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote enterprise policies, guidelines and processes for governing data and metadata within the Cymer Light Source organization.
  • Partner to expand the organization’s metadata content, availability, accuracy, and awareness.
  • Collaborate with the support and enhancement of enterprise metadata repositories.
  • Propose solutions that communicate and reinforce the availability and business value of metadata content.
  • Contribute to analytics governance programs such as Data Council in order to advance the awareness, adoption, and utilization of trusted primary data and analytics assets.
  • Active engagement with new metadata tool definitions, requirements, vendor evaluations, and enterprise proposals.
  • Work with Data Management tools like Collibra or SharePoint.
  • Work with SQL, Spotfire and Denodo to extract information about the data assets living in those environments.
  • Organize and catalogue different types of metadata (data assets, analytics, etc.).
  • Create visibility into different trends and opportunities of improvement in the areas of metadata management, newexisting data sets and dashboards.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, innovation and improvement of the ASML data foundation to drive adoption and utilization of data assets.
  • Strong partner in discussions with analytics team members and other stakeholders within the internal customer departments.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information management systems or equivalent technical domain.
  • At least 3 years of experience in enterprise-level IT organizations with mature service operations practices and processes (code version control, test-driven methodologies, project/task management, continuous improvement, etc.).
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with data management and business intelligence platforms and applications.
  • Working knowledge of data management features of SQL, Spotfire, Denodo or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with enterprise reporting tools, relational databases, ERP systems, and SQL querying.
  • Hands on experience with data governance principles, enterprise data modeling, and data management practices.
  • Hands on experience with data cataloging principles and platforms such as Collibra.
  • Understanding of complex business processes within product organizations and business domains (Innovation/R&D, Supply chain, Manufacturing, Customer Service); experience with semiconductor industry, discrete high-tech manufacturing, and global supply chain / logistics a plus. Solid understanding of ASML and Cymer environments and business operations a plus.
  • Working knowledge of business processes, integration, and data structures supported by enterprise business systems (SAP, Oracle EBS, Siemens PLM, etc.) .
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle DB, or other relational database schemas/models.
  • Proven knowledge of enterprise Information Technology concepts and processes (i.e. Agile, SAFe etc.). Understanding of multiple software development lifecycles a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data management and analysis frameworks (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud etc.) a plus.
  • Knowledge and practice of project management tools and techniques.

The Californiabase hourly range for this role is currently $30 -$50. Payscales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with marketdata. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment ofseveral factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but notlimited to, job-related skills, relevant education and experience,certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other teammembers.
