Role and responsibilities

The mission of Senior/Principal Application Software architect is to be successful in driving and enabling our E-Beam tool’s software product development for Inspection and Metrology application. As an in-depth domain knowledge in EBI inspection/metrology applications and understanding the software design, you will act as the technical interface for Program and System Engineer as a product-level software architect, between Application engineers and software developers as functional-level architect, specialized in inspection process, metrology flow, algorithm validation, software interface design and software functional requirement analysis.

To focus on software product design, you need to communicate with Program and System engineer to define software product functionalities, analysis Application engineer’ s requirements on flow design, software data handling and software application technical roadmap planning guidance. Support functional design and realize the software infrastructure and application future roadmap for the ASML-HMI E-Beam products.

  • Working closely with customer and application engineering, software application engineer is responsible for developing software application using ASML-HMI e-beam systems to provide monitor and control solution for advanced nodes in semi-conductor industries.
  • Identify business requirements from product managers or stakeholders for inspection and metrology software development. Meet with internal and external customers to maintain two-way level of commitment to keep all involved and affected parties informed of progress.
  • Define unified software application development standards and data input/output for EBI tool and software environment selection.
  • Design, develop, integrate software features for inspection and metrology products.
  • Perform data analysis with mathematical models and software algorithms on customer data.
  • Create functional design proposals for improving the system software performance , inspection/metrology algorithm performance.
  • Participate actively in identifying future software application features.
  • Coordinate with the various competencies to align and resolve design issues.
  • Write professional specification and design documents.
  • Occasional travel to customer may be needed.

Education and experience

  • MS or PhD in physical sciences, engineering or a related field
  • Master with 7+ years of years of relevant work experience or PhD
  • knowledge with Semiconductor manufacturing and process flow.
  • Expert knowledge in EBI inspection and metrology wafer process application.
  • Experienced in E-beam tool, such as CDSEM, Review SEM, TEM, etc.
  • Experienced on yield engineering in Semiconductor industry.
  • Experience in scripting programming language, data analytical tooling.
  • Familiar with distributed system and concurrent programming to analyzes software requirements and determine feasibility within time and cost constraints.
  • Familiar with large software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of the design.
  • Research experience by developing mathematics models and algorithms for data analysis and performance improvement.
  • Familiar in wafer CD Metrology/Overlay and Lithographic process is a plus.
  • Excellent communication/written skills in English.
