Job mission
ASML/HMI brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography & metrology machines, as well as computational lithography & control software products. HMI metrology application design engineer is responsible for product development by high resolution e-beam systems, providing holistic control solution for advanced nodes in semi-conductor industries.
Job description
Perform feasibility studies to access performance of e-beam metrology system functionalities, defining metrology application product specification.
Be responsible for functional design and performance evaluation on application products, collaborating with different ASML sectors on holistic solution for process control.
Generate and maintain script tooling for design of experiments, enabling efficient performance evaluation and trouble-shooting.
Engage with worldwide semi-conductor customers, in charge of new product introduction and early product evaluation.
Bring customer use cases learning back to product development, driving solution for metrology performance improvement.
10-20% international travel is required.
Education and experience
Master and above in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical engineering, Material Science or Chemical Engineering.
Experiences
Minimum 2 year relevant experiences of semi-conductor process optimization, data science for process improvement, ebeam technology, optical metrology and/or material characterization.
Hands-on experience on CD/overlay metrology or photo-lithography is plus.
Script level programming skills is plus, including Matlab, Python or C++.
Able to operate data visualization tool, including excel Marco, JMP or Spotfire.

Other information
This position is located on-site in San Joes, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
Responsibilities
Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $115,875-$193,125. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
