Are you motivated to realize ground breaking FPGA Firmware designs that support our complex ASML machines into the future? Then you might be the colleague we are looking for at Power and High Voltage.
As FGPA Firmware Designer your mission is to define, realize and maintain FPGA firmware solutions that are part of our best in class power electronics with high focus on quality, cost of goods and which belongs to ASML’s company-internal library.
Role and responsibilities
The FPGA Firmware Designer is responsible for the following:
- Participate in a multidisciplinary design team.
- Define and document requirements for the FPGA Firmware designs.
- Perform trade-off studies to determine the preferred implementation scenario for new or changed functions.
- Model, simulate and verify designs prior to implementation.
- Write code in VHDL, System Verilog and Embedded C that implements the requirements.
- Debug and validate designs with internal and external Logic Analyzers.
- Define, document and execute tests to ensure that the firmware satisfies the requirements.
- Solve problems and manage problem resolution during first system integration.
- Contribute to analysis and solution of reliability issues.
- Operate as the electronics design representative in discussions with SW team.
Education and experience
Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Affinity with power (analog) electronics is a must.
- Experience of at least 3 – 5 years as a Firmware designer.
- Experience with relevant FPGA tooling, timing analysis, debugging and version control.
- Experience with VHDL, System Verilog, Embedded C and Python.
- Experience with Analog and Digital test and measurement equipment DSO, Spectrum Analyzer and VNA.
- Experience with SoC is a pre.

The FPGA Firmware Designer reports to the group leader of Power and High Voltage or delegated team leader.
