Our CRE Netherlands department is responsible for all CRE activities/responsibilities for the Netherlands portfolio and ensure alignment with CRE strategy, business continuity and operational excellence in accordance with CRE’s foundational elements.

The Asset Manager is responsible for the business continuity and uptime for the maintenance operations of CRE NL F&M. As the expert counterpart, the Asset Manager supports suppliers with complex issues and continuous improvement in order to ensure and improve the reliability of assets. The core of this position lies in the advisory role as a highly skilled expert that is knowledgeable in all fields of expertise and able to judge and coordinate solutions from an integrated manner. Additionally, the Asset Manager is responsible to organize effective and efficient operations. The Asset Manager is part of the local organization and executes his/her role for all sites in the Netherlands.

Role and responsibilities

The role of Asset Manager entails the following key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage business continuity strategy and increase business continuity/minimize risks by continuously optimizing asset maintenance plans and execution.

  • Develop an approach for business continuity management and a maintenance strategy.

  • Manage and organize the relevant/supporting information and actively develop the investment plans with the Program Managers.

  • Manage content of the MJOP and (co-)develop policies for contract and supplier management in line with corporate guidelines, best practices and standards.

  • Judge and give advice about proposed solutions for asset replacement, improvements, engineering, maintenance (Request for Change) or repairs to be executed or planned.

  • Ensure that optimal execution plans are prepared and act as lead Manager in order for suppliers to execute.

  • Run daily process of effective maintenance and decide upon short- and medium-term execution plans with suppliers.

  • Prepare timely and effective hand-over from projects to business as usual together with suppliers to ensure continuity and uptime.

  • Act as expertise counterpart (SME) and support suppliers with complex issues and share hands-on expertise in projects, designs, reviews and studies.

  • Design and maintain operational processes, such as escalation, deviation and recovery processes and ensure embedment in the supply chain.

  • Ensure feasible, tested, operational and up-to-date plans for crisis management.

  • Act as first responder in case of continuity risks or failures with the purpose to minimize impact.

  • Oversee performance and financial management.

  • Oversee operational performance reporting and, together with Hard Service Specialists and CRE Business Partners, continuously develop the reporting format and content (both for reporting purposes as well as to give insights in performance and risks to the Competence Team).

  • Run evaluation cycles, budget and performance reviews and scope changes.

  • Act as advisory role and ensure effective strategies and budget allocation.

  • (co-)Approve budget spending from content-expertise perspective and, together with the Contract & Supplier manager, ensure effective budget management strategies.

  • Initiate and stimulate structural product and quality development together with suppliers and the CRE NL F&M content experts to continuously meet (new) requirements and innovate products and services e.g., through innovation boards, pilots, joint product developments etc.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree in engineering.

  • 7+ years of experience in a relevant work field e.g., building services engineering, asset management.
