Background information

Digital Platform is part of the newly formed Business unit (DPS). One of the products this department is developing is the Equipment Performance Server (EPS), a product which ASML places at customer sites to support ASML Customer Support Engineers. Given the complexity of the ASML lithography machines, this EPS Servers are key to have high availability.

Your assignment

The application software described above is created by specialists in other teams. Together with the EPS team of ~20 people it is your task to investigate alternatives for a test platform to test the components in the platform. For the components you should think of K8S, VMWare, MongoDB, ISTIO etc...  Of course these components are tested thoroughly outside ASML, but the ASML specific use cases ask for a framework to test our specific use cases.  Use cases can be e.g. "a connection to a socket is broken, etc.". The team you will work with designed the hardware setup, the virtualization layers, manages firmware updates and provides a key set of supporting software services to manage the hardware platform. The team is very strong on the technical aspects.

ASML: be part of progress
ASML is a high-tech company headquartered in the Netherlands. We manufacture the complex lithography machines that chipmakers use to produce integrated circuits, or computer chips. What we do is at the heart of all the electronic devices that keep us informed, entertained and connected. Every day, you use electronics that simply wouldn’t exist without our machines.

Behind ASML’s innovations are engineers who think ahead. The people who work at our company include some of the most creative minds in physics, electrical engineering, mathematics, chemistry, mechatronics, optics, mechanical engineering, and computer science and software engineering.

We believe we can always do better. We believe the winning idea can come from anyone. We love what we do – not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard.

How will you be part of progress?
