Are you a Master student in the direction of Computer Science looking for a graduation internship? Are you experienced with Unified Modeling Language and C/C++? Are you a team player with good analytical skills? Then this internship might be interesting for you!

Background information

The Machine Control (MC) department is responsible for the definition and handling of the Exposure Recipe. Exposure Recipes are used by ASML customers to define the structure and layout of the wafer along with settings needed to correctly process wafers in the Lithography machine.
Over the years ASML has introduced various types of Lithography machines, each tailored to a specific product range. Different software releases have emerged from this. Customers tend to use a mix of machine types to create a single product and ideally want to use one Exposure Recipe per product. Unfortunately, this is not always possible, and customers need to regularly rework or recreate recipes when transferring recipes between different machine types.

Your assignment

Investigate how we can improve the compatibility of Exposure Recipes and demonstrate in a proof of concept. This task consists of:

  • Understanding how customers use Exposure Recipes across different SW releases;

  • Understanding the current compatibility of Exposure Recipes and its shortcomings;

  • Investigating possibilities on how to improve Exposure Recipe compatibility;

  • Selecting the optimal solution and demonstrating its benefits in a Proof of Concept.

Your profile

To be a perfect match with this role, you:

  • Have an educational background in Computer Science;

  • You are experienced with Unified Modeling Language and requirements engineering, as well as C/C++;

  • You have good analytical skills;

  • You are open minded and willing to learn;

  • You are a team player.

This is a Master graduation internship lasting for at least 6 months, 5 days per week starting as soon as possible.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the internship.

This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access U.S. controlled technology.
