Our Global Projects department is responsible for the execution of large and/or complex projects (>20 million euro and/or business critical) to support ASML’s current & future operations, and develop and maintain a central comprehensive overview of the entire CAPEX portfolio and performance.
The Manager Global Projects is responsible for the execution of a portfolio of large, complex and/or business critical projects to support ASML’s current and future operations in multiple regions. Therefore, the Manager Global Projects is head of multiple local specialized teams with local project managers that execute these projects. As Manager Global Projects you are part of the Global Projects team and report directly to the Head of Global Projects.
Roles and responsibilities
The role of Manager Global Projects entails the following key responsibilities and characteristics of complexity.
Role and responsibilities
Responsible for the execution of a portfolio of large (>20 M€), complex and/or business critical projects within one or multiple regions.
Develop, implement and manage the execution strategy as drawn up by the department.
Manage, monitor and report on the (interdependencies with other) programs/projects scope, quality and risk mitigation within a project portfolio.
Monitor and report consolidated CAPEX project performance across the project portfolio, incl. dimensions of budget, scope, quality, adherence to BGP (Building Generation Proces - project management methodology), timeline, etc.
Provide guidance and support to local project managers and project teams of global project execution within a project portfolio.
Identify issues and implement corrective actions for the projects in the portfolio, assists Regional project managers to implement corrective actions in their project.
Ensures alignment of budget, scope and timelines for global projects in a project portfolio.
Responsible for operational communications for regional/local projects.
Ensure implementation of BGP standards, tools and systems in a project portfolio.
ComplexityManage complex decision-making processes and the ability to take uncertainty into consideration in a project portfolio.
Optimize and manage the contracts and performance of the supply chain by managing relationships with suppliers and structurally assessing the performance of suppliers against specifications in a project portfolio.
Leading and managing the regional project managers and specialized teams of a project portfolio.
Manage impact of construction on productivity of industrial sites (long downs, pedestal availability) in a project portfolio.
Managing large and complex projects (in a project portfolio) in a context of growing scarcity (resources material/manpower, support from external governments, etc.).
Managing complex projects in multiple regions from a central location in the Netherlands and must therefore be present in the regions for 1 to 2 weeks per month.
Simultaneously acting in different (global) markets; working in complex, fast changing, and growing environments, with teams at different maturity levels and cultures.
Education and experience
Academic working level obtained by education and work experience.
Master or Bachelor+ degree in the field of industrial, mechanical, installations engineering/maintenance or business administration (in case of the latter with proven experience in industrial environment).
Preferably a seasoned senior operational leader, project manager, program Manager with experience working abroad
Min. 10+ years of work experience of which at least 6 years in similar position; large construction/renovation projects in international high-tech production (including cleanrooms) environments.
Experience in gathering information in a fast-paced international network organization.
