Role and responsibilities
100% material availability for an agreed plan within a timeframe and minimal costs
Managing demand
1. Analysis
Output analysis of the MRP for assigned parts from Demand and Supply point of view.
2. Managing supplier
Responsible for managing the capacity on tactical and operational level at the supplier, so the proper priority can be set.
3. Ordering
- Responsible for different types of ordering:
- NB (New Buy) ordering
- Intercompany ordering
- Repair ordering
- Ordering parts as agreed within the Long Term Agreement (parts with a material-contract).
- Monitor ordering flow and supplier’s logistic performance.
4. Expediting
- Expedite complete purchase-order backlog at supplier (incl. repair-orders)
- Prioritize these reschedules to minimize risk on stock-outs and over planned within ASML
- In case of discrepancies deliberate with the internal customer to be able to set the correct priorities.
- Responsible for the proper escalation of these shortages.
- Translate performance in vendor rating, communicate with suppliers, initiate and follow up improvements (also a SAT (Supplier Account Team) member)
5. R4V (Ready for Volume) on buy parts
- After checking different parameters, an active take over of materials offered by PLM. Redefine master data settings for “volume” ordering. Moving upstream in the process, by actively taking over “pilot” parts (not necessarily meeting all R4V criteria)
Managing plan and product-changes (EC’s):
Analyze on demand Change purchase orders within financial guidelines (SOX compliant) Advisory role for demand control in checking feasibility on plan changes together with the supplier Support Procurement with cancellation of Purchase Orders More and more take over responsibility of PLM of EC-changes before it is implemented. Responsible for managing the product changes effected by RIO (Release In Order): Define the cluster possibilities and costs with the supplier and advise the project (before the EC is closed) Manage shortages and over planned caused by RIO and advise the RIO team concerning the costs and changed clusters (after EC is closed)
Infrastructure
Master data; responsible for the correct logistic parameters for the assigned parts and the maintenance of these parameters. Point out discrepancies on master data settings to the responsible department in case Material Planner isn’t responsible (e.g. info record, duration of material contract) Supplier relations; routine communication including conference call to improve and maintain logistic performance with suppliers Internal relations, improve and maintain internal processes Member in SAT, responsible for logistic paragraph in supplier performance. Adapt, implement and maintain new supply chain strategies at suppliers and the internal settings as agreed with Logistic Strategy
Analyze and communication
Inventory control, manage inventory level to an agreed target Communication and reporting, report relevant KPI’s
Responsible for the Material Availability, analysis and improvement actions.
Education
Bachelor or above with major in Industrial Engineering, Business Administrative and Supply Chain Management related.
Experience
6+ years’ experience on Supply Chain management expertise in material planning, inventory control and trouble shooting in a manufacturing environment (preferably equipment manufacturing industry)
Skills
English and Mandarin
Systematic thinking, process improvement and implementation experience will be a plus
Solid understanding of various operations functions.
Experience in an ERP / MRP environment, an understanding of those systems, and an ability to track product and report issues is required. SAP experiences is a plus
Familiarity with the Theory of MRP
Skilled in the use of MS Office. Strong excel skills are of particular importance.
