Are you energized by being technical lead in performance studies of our wafer tables? If you enjoy challenging and complex technical puzzles, were you dive into the performance data of wafer tables, the underlying physics, and collaborate with analysts, design teams, and customer support to clarify root causes, then this function might fit you perfectly. As our wafer tables hold our customer products, you can make the difference!

  • Join weekly customer calls to collect and discuss the performance of wafer tables

  • Analyze performance data and drive the understanding of issues and trends in the field, discuss findings in current and new product developments of Wafer tables

  • Participate in technical meetings, discuss and influence the performance of next generation wafer tables by discussing customer needs in the technical developments and roadmaps

  • Define performance monitoring metrics, based on strong statistic reasonings

  • Present and argument analysis results towards architects and management

  • Coach and mentor analysts on technical matters and stakeholder management

Role and responsibilities

As senior engineer you join customer calls, support the team on data analysis, and lead deep dive studies on wafer tables field issues. Secure that the performance behavior of wafer tables is understood, trends are identified early, and input is used in the design improvements of wafer tables. During all steps you work with a team and cooperate with customers, suppliers and cross sector internal stakeholders.

Education and experience

Master degree in a Physics, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry with proven physics or mechanical engineering background

  • At least 3 years experience as technical lead in high tech product development (preferably at ASML)

  • Experience in translating observed product performance into root causes and structural solutions

  • Theoretical and experimental experience in performance qualification and understanding

  • Well aware of architectural choices made by balancing technical, financial and timing aspects

  • Solid experience in statistics, competent with lean six sigma

  • Experience or high affiliation with data analytics and performance analysis

  • Knowledge about chemical wear, mechanical wear, tribology

Skills

  • You have strong communication skills, enjoy a team environment, and work well with others in an international multicultural setting. You have authority without being hierarchical

  • Self-motivated team player, outgoing personality that adapts well to a variety of individuals and different levels within the organization

  • Act pro-active, takes initiative, and has a drive for fundamental understanding based on data driven conclusions and challenge assumptions with facts

  • Good analytical skills, while balance statistics with pragmatic approaches

  • Being able to handle high demanding stakeholders

  • Willing and capable to dive into technical depth, to assess and discuss findings of analysts

  • Strong in risk assessment, direction setting, and decision making

You will be part of the Wafer Table performance cluster in DUV Development & Engineering, which is responsible for the performance analysis, feasibility studies, and customer engagement of the next generation wafer tables. Wafer tables are crucial to make lithography happen against the ever demanding specs on overlay, focus, imaging and throughout while ensuring high availability.
