Software Engineering Internship: Setup GitHub repository for off-scanner resource files

Introduction

Are you a student with a background in Software Engineering or Computer Science? Do you have experience with GitHub? Then this internship could be interesting for you!

Background information

Our group is responsible for securing manufacturability and proving production capability of calibration and qualification tests introduced in new products by the DE Metrology cluster. This means that amongst others we create the work procedures and knowledge transfers to both our factories as the service people in the field and we make sure that the right design choices are made to limit the cycle time of the tests.

Your assignment

We want to develop an industrialized off-scanner resource control system. We have layout, recipe and patch files that are used in manufacturing and servicing of our lithography machines. They are referred to in our manuals and work instructions and used by the lithography machines.

We want to migrate from the existing (legacy) system to the industry standard GitHub. Enabling us to use Actions and other pipelines to automate standard actions.

The assignment can be scaled based on the capability of the intern and the type of internship considered suitable.

Specifics: Setup a GitHub repository, create a structure, migrate content from legacy system, auto a publishing pipeline using Actions, new file intake process using Actions, design an interface that allows for automated software impact analysis when other design teams are making code changes in other repositories, roll-out of the new way of working to all industrialization and design teams across multiple departments.

Your profile

To be the perfect match for the internship, you:

• Are a student in Computer Science, Software Engineering or any related field;

• Have GitHub knowledge;

• Have knowledge in code testing principles and making project plans;

• Are creative, curious, goal oriented and capable of working independently;

• Have good communication skills;

This internship is suitable for both apprentice and graduation assignments lasting 3-9 months, 5 days per week starting in September 2023.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the internship.
