The Senior Workspace Designer acts from the strategic pillars and advices, supports and is gatekeeper to assure fit-for-purpose floorplans and associated employee services.

Job Mission

The purpose of the Senior Workspace Designer is to translate the Workplace Strategy for our new key developments around the globe. This applies in both ASML owned environments as well as leased properties. In this role he/she aligns with and provides guidance to the  local CRE teams in the regions on developing, improving and optimizing work environments.

Job Description

The Senior Workspace Designer supports and advices the local teams based on  the ASML standard workplace concepts on Housing and Services towards the local practice in such a way that all needs of the business are supported in an optimal way. The Senior Workspace Designer is the gatekeeper to assure compliance with ASML standard workplace concepts in close collaboration with the CRE Center of Expertise, who owns the standards. All of this is based on and executed within CRE’s strategic pillars (Safety, TCO, Flexibility, Business alignment, Wellbeing and Sustainability). The Senior Workspace Designer is part of the global CRE REDS team.

Provide guidance and support, act as and gatekeeper for the local CRE team in Workplace Experience projects (including housing and services) on:

Responsibilities

  • All existing information collection including workplace utilization study, that is available before start of a Housing and Services project to assure right starting points (with space calculator, head count and occupancy data, badge swipe data, surveys, etc).

  • To lead and guide complex strategic topics as we grow into new workplace concepts around the globe, in close collaboration with portfolio management and campus development

  • Quality of data and the outcome of the data analysis.

  • The project timeline and project team.

  • The change and communications plan including stakeholder analysis.

  • Visioning sessions with local management to assure sponsorship and stakeholder management (including reinforcement during project and implementation phase).

  • To design and deliver the best-fit workplace solution in compliance with the (specific) needs of the client (the business) and the Workplace Experience Book.

  • Gathering Housing and Services needs of the business and translate into designs, using the workplace experience book and instruments in the toolbox for workplace management.

  • Creation of the User Requirements Specifications (URS) that are part of the definition and design phase to define all relevant specifications. Support workshops to derive specifications.

  • Review the proposed functional floor plans with the local team and/or the Project Manager based on the requirements as described in the URS.

  • The floorplan and services implementation during and directly after the project according to URS and ASML standards on Housing and Services.

  • Assure proper communication and change management during and after the project, for management, for employees and for the FM suppliers that will start working on the new workplaces.

  • Onboarding, after care and operations of the new workspaces.

  • Actively provide input to Housing and Services Experts in order for them to continuously update the ASML Standards on Housing and Services.

Education

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Facility Management or similar

Experience

At least 8-10 years of similar experience in office workplace concepts and workplace management
in an international, high-paced environment.

Context of the position

CRE is positioned within ASML as a global matrix organization. CRE REDS department therefore is responsible for the quality of the workplace experience of ASML worldwide. Local CRE teams are responsible for the local application and (daily) management and execution of CRE processes in compliance with (global) standards.

Flexibility to travel towards our international locations when required is a pre-condition for this function.
