Introduction to the job

Act as a subject matter expert to plan, lead, drive and execute projects that increase throughput, provide favorable P&L impact, and improve organizational scalability using ‘Project Management’ approaches. Projects includes, but not limited to, continuous improvements, central cascaded projects, regional initiatives. And these projects should be distinguished from conventional/operational activities for each natural teams.

Role and responsibilities

Project Management

  • “Project Initiation”: Identify and analyze business needs, stakeholders and linkages to other project scope and objectives.

  • “Project Planning”: Formulate the project plan, define clear and SMART project deliverables, determine budget and required resource, clarify role and involvement level of project team members and acquire approval and acceptance from project sponsors. (SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound). Implement and embed the structural project execution process and organize the project management office.

  • “Project Execution”: Lead, shape and drive project activities and deliverables aligning with pre-planned objectives, manage project risk and resources, take corrective/preventive actions when necessary, and make an enhancement of project execution results outstandingly.

Constraints Management

  • Engage with project leads to achieve ‘Scope, Timing, Resources and Project Quality’ targets during the project planning, project execution, and project close-out phases

Project Kaizen

  • “Project Champion for Korea/Japan region”: Gatekeeper for all projects coming to Korea/Japan and provide collective input for Central project tollgates

  • “Project (Portfolio) framework”: Provide frameworks for running central and local projects at CSCM Korea/Japan to allow for agreed intake, closure tollgates and escalation paths

  • Provide periodic insights in project execution progress, resource allocation, and workload outlook of on-going & up-coming projects

  • Engage with Lean champions within CSCM Korea/Japan representing the Project Kaizen Pillar

P3 (Portfolio/Program/Project) Delegation and Interface Management

  • Advise CSCM staff in making right strategic prioritization by creating insights in full portfolio of Centrally driven, Priority-set, Cross Departments and their benefits/resource/progress.

  • Gatekeeper for the CSCM portfolio process and ‘First point of contact/entry’ for project leads (via Monthly portfolio overview and relevant meetings, if necessary)

  • Define and lead the portfolio management improvement roadmap.

  • Engagement on ‘Project planning/execution/close-out’ and performance evaluation on project leads with practical tools and experiences.

  • Strategically communicate with Central/Regional PMO program management office and Portfolio Champions.

With whom do you interface

  • “Key Interface”: Work with a project manager and group leaders across additional operational sectors

  • CSCM Korea/Japan – each teams

  • Central (Netherland HQ) – each teams

  • Central and local Portfolio Champions + Project Leads

Education and experience

  • Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree required: Industrial Engineering / Management Science / Business Administration / Supply Chain/Other Engineering

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in Portfolio/Program/or Project management, preferably in a hi-tech environment, working in large/international companies.

Skills

  • Connecting the dots between project/portfolio, lean, and business processes

  • A tactical and strategic thinker with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Be able to work independently, self-starter in an international working environment (to interact and engage diverse stakeholders and workforce)

  • Be able to advice the management/project team concise and precise on portfolio/program/project matters

  • Be able to know the details and zoom out to show the larger picture/overview as needed

  • Result oriented, convincing, and pro-active attitudes and excellent professional communication in English.
