Financial Internship (Non-thesis): Support and improve invoice matching process

Introduction

Background information

Within ASML, the Technology sector is responsible for definition and development of products and technologies. Within the sector Technology, the Corporate Intellectual Property department is responsible to provide global intellectual property assistance to protect and support ASML’s business. In particular, the department is responsible to establish and maintain a portfolio of patent rights. In the execution of the patenting process, ASML is working with intellectual property agents.
This internship provides an opportunity to work closely with our Financial Specialist who manages the departments’ long-term financial plan, global annual budget cycle as well as monthly financial reviews. Under her supervision, the intern will be able to learn from different processes such as managing the agents invoicing, matching invoices with orders given to agents and reporting to the departments’ management team.

Your assignment

The goal of the assignment is to further professionalize the financial process and make the current invoice matching process more efficient. You will assist the Financial Specialist and learn about the different aspects of our departments’ financial operations.
Specific deliverables are:

• Roll-out of standardized agent invoice report template

• Improved calculation model which is fed with input of standardized template and automatically reports out the results in a specific format

• Process description describing the way of working of gathering the information for invoice matching

• Financial reporting and analysis

Your profile

To be the perfect match for this internship, you:

• Are a bachelor or master student in Finance or Business Administration/Management or related studies;

• Have MS Excel knowledge, organizational skills, attention to details;

• Are a team player and good communicator;

• Are proficient in English, both written and verbally.

This is a bachelor or a master apprentice internship, for 2 to 4 days per week, with a minimum duration of 4 months. The start date of this assignment is as soon as possible.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.
