Background information
ASML is a leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry. ASML designs, develops, integrates, markets and services these advanced systems, which continue to help major chip making companies reduce the size and increase the functionality of microchips, and consumer electronic equipment.
ASML's Legal & Compliance department is responsible for defining and implementing ASML’s worldwide legal & compliance strategy and bears the responsibility for all ASML entities worldwide to comply with international laws and regulations, in order to minimize legal risks and to maximize legal and commercial opportunities. The Legal & Compliance department consists of a team of highly empowered, business oriented lawyers and compliance professionals, supported by paralegals and assistants, working across the globe and based in Europe, US and Asia.
Your assignment
You will assist the ESG team within the Legal & Compliance sector with various activities in the area of ESG, with particular focus on (emerging) legal requirements and other external legal developments in the area of ESG. the internship entails the following tasks
Monitor litigation and legal & regulatory developments on ESG & Sustainability area;
Establishment of a legal precedent database covering applicable jurisdictions;
Support to L&C newsletter on topics related to ESG & Sustianability;
Development of Quick reference card per legislation;
Support on daily routine tasks, helping the ESG Business Partner providingg timely advice to internal areas (research, draft of emails, memorandums, etc).
Your profile
To be the perfect match for this internship, you:
Are a bachelor or master student in Law;
Have a strong personal affinity with and interest in ESG;
Are familiar with ESG concepts such as supply chain due diligence, anti-bribery, conflict minerals, etc.
Possess great analytic & communication skills and are pro-active and driven.
Are profficient in (business) English.
This is a graduation project for 6 to 12 months, for 3 to 4 days per week. The start date is as soon as possible.
Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.
