Introduction to the job

Our department specializes in IT Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), with a focus on digital work instructions and operational sequences. We provide the digital backbone that guides engineers through the complexities of manufacturing and field service. We operate within an Agile framework but also collaborate closely with other departments following traditional project management approaches.

We are looking for a dynamic Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead an Agile Release Train (ART) within IT PLM. This release train is owning the business process for digital work instructions and operational sequences. As RTE you will be leading and facilitating a multi-disciplinary scaled Agile release train (60+ FTE) and unify agile and traditional project models while collaborating with large programs.

Role and responsibilities

  • Domain Expertise: Lead the ART in the digital work instructions and operations sequences for machine creation within PLM.

  • Bridge the Gap: Act as the key liaison between our SAFe-based ART, IT and departments utilizing traditional project management.

  • Delivery & Maintenance: Ensure on-time delivery of Program Increment (PI) objectives, features, and enablers.

  • Transparency & Insight: Use tools like Jira and ServiceNow to provide real-time updates and metrics on ART performance.

  • Shield & Support: Create a stable environment for the ART, addressing and escalating impediments.

Education and experience

  • Minimum 8 years in a fast-paced work environment

  • Experience in the role of RTE or in a similar agile role

  • Experience in a Project Leader (PL) role is a plus

  • Familiarity with Jira Align is a plus

  • Experience in the PLM/Configuration management domain is beneficial
