Background information

The ASML’s Ethics & Business Integrity team (part of the Legal and Compliance department) is accountable for developing, supervising and strengthening the ethics culture of ASML. It supports the Ethics Board by raising awareness, providing leadership and expert advice to ensure the development and execution of ethics alongside ASML’s values. The E&BI team also strives to promote the observance of policies and is the guardian of ASML’s Code of Conduct, Speak Up policy and Anti-Fraud and Anti Bribery and Corruption policies

The Ethics Office key responsibilities include:
• Managing and monitoring the ASML Ethics and ABC Programs on a day-to-day basis.
• Maintaining the ASML Code of Conduct and supporting documents, the Speak Up policy and the Ethics Office, Ethics Board and Ethics Committee charters.
• Acts as lead coordinator for Ethics Complaints investigations and cooperates with the investigators (as mandated by the Ethics Committee).
• Raises awareness and encourages understanding and compliance with the ASML Code of Conduct and Business Principles and ASML Speak Up Policy.

Your assignment

The Ethics Office is looking for an intern to support its small team in day to day matters.
Role of Ethics Office intern:

  • Monitoring tracking of completed training modules, following up with employees where necessary via MyLearning and assist in roll-out of new trainings.
  • Assistance with the preparation of company wide ethics awareness communication initiatives and the organization of ethics awareness events (this may involve arranging speakers, large virtual sessions for Ethics Liaisons or HR managers etc.)
  • Assist the E&BI Officers in policy related projects
  • Work within the case management system to assist with triage of incoming cases, closing and cleaning up of files, anonymizing decisions (under the guidance of an Ethics Officer) and extracting relevant data for reporting purposes
  • Shared folders need re-organization and clean up (a lot of information is dated and can be archived)
  • Assistance with relaunching ethics website and potentially act as a project manager for this matter
  • Assistance in preparing presentations and updates for relevant internal stakeholders

Given the sensitivity of some of the documentation which the suitable candidate will be handling, we will request the following:
1. Verklaring van Goed Gedrag; i.e official declaration of ethical/good behavior which we can request via the Government.
2. At least one written reference from a Professor at the university.
3. A signed written Internship Agreement with tailored confidentiality provisions.

Your profile

To be the perfect match for this position you:

  • Are a bachelor or master student in Legal and Compliance;
  • Have a great feeling of responsibility and work well in a team;
  • Are experienced with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Are proficient in English.

This is an apprentice internship next to your studies for minimum 6 months (preferably 12), for 4 to 5 days per week. The start date is as of January 2023.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.
