Role and responsibilities

The Mechanical Tolerance Architect Drive Laser is responsible for managing the (opto) mechanical tolerance budget for the complete next generation Drive Laser module, in close cooperation with functional colleagues and supplier Trumpf. Your role will be to create, align and maintain the mechanical tolerance budgets for the different submodules of the Drive Laser, in close cooperation with relevant stakeholders. The goal of your efforts will be to create a reliable and (thermo) mechanically stable Drive Laser module. You achieve this based on your experience of mechanical development, precision engineering, requirements creation and management, modular approaches, (opto) mechanical tolerancing expertise and budget breakdowns. In this role, you will be part of the MDEV Drive Laser team.

Education and experience

  • A Masters or PhD in mechanical engineering or similar hardware/machine building related background.
    Experience
  • You are an experienced Mechanical Lead engineer / Mechanical Architect with 5+ years of experience in mechanical leadership in an ASML-context.
  • You have overseen significant (sub) module developments in ASML from an architect or lead developer role from start to finish.
  • You are intimately familiar with the ASML (function) development WoW and can be considered an expert on (opto) mechanical tolerancing.
  • You have overseen one or more ASML hardware deliveries towardsproduction and field introduction
  • You are skilled in precision mechanics and as a minimumfamiliar with opto-mechanical engineering
  • You possess strong tolerancing experience in ASMLrelevant context.

To thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:

  • Expert in mechanical machine tolerancing in high techindustry
  • Experienced in budget breakdown from system module >submodule > element, ability to apply (and where needed coach) systems-thinking.
  • Precision mechanics experience, preferably inopto-mechanical applications
  • Expert in mechanical tolerancing (GD&T), preferablyin opto-mechanical context
  • You are able to influence without power, specificallyon technical content topics
  • You are familiar with function development way of working
  • You have supplier cooperation experience and bring personalcommunication and persuading skills
