Introduction – Job Mission
The intern will be responsible for simulating wafer alignment marks using MATLAB / C prototyping code, analyzing related output signals and drawing conclusions about the feasibility and performance of mark designs.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Wafer alignment is an integral process in semiconductor manufacturing by which the wafer position is precisely adjusted using measurements of alignment marks.
The intern will be expected to:
Perform simulations of wafer alignment marks subject to various perturbation conditions and evaluate the output signals.
Contribute to the development of a streamlined simulation workflow.
Document conclusions from simulations and additional contributions in the form of a final report.
Education and Experience
Pursuing Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Physics.
Understanding of EM simulation (e.g. FDTD, Fourier optics)
Programming experience (MATLAB, C would be helpful)
Research or experience in nanophotonics / related field
Excellent team, communication and organizational skills.
Willingness to work independently and to identify, analyze and solve both simulation and experimental challenges in a dynamic applied R&D organization.
