Interfacing ASML’s Business Lines, we manage the introduction, the (engineering) changes and the phase out of products – taking supply chain requirements into account. It is our mission to enable concurrent engineering, manage complex product changes, secure the availability of materials, optimize the critical path, and pursue volume-planning excellence.

Role and responsibilities

We are a high-tech company and leading supplier to the semiconductor industry. We manufacture the complex lithography machines that chip manufacturers use to produce integrated circuits or computer chips. What we do is at the heart of all electronic devices that inform, entertain and connect us. More than 1.400 employees develop and manufacture key components for ASML lithography systems at our facility in Berlin.

It is your task to optimize the product critical path in all phases of the product lifecycle.
In the early phases, you have to understand the prototype and pilot plan and their different configurations to be able to support on the timely definition and completeness of the bill of material and timely release of design documentation. You will manage all stages of the PLM project deliverables.

Introducing new products to customer sites requires a balanced spare-part and tool-stocking strategy, taking into account inventory cost and customer service. Additionally, our delivered products can have enhancements or upgrades to newer configurations and return materials are re-used. As an interface between Development and Supply Chain, you are preparing and planning what is needed to execute this.

In between new product introduction and product obsolescence, we have serial production, also known as volume production. In this phase of the product lifecycle, you drive for a lean supply chain and plan for design maturity and planning maturity. If (new) supply chain issues arise, you are able to take this back to the right development channel via the process of issue resolution management.

You contribute to the further development of the Product Lifecycle Management Department as part of the Sourcing & Supply Chain organization. PLM Project Leads take part in or lead initiatives or improvement projects on all levels of the organization. Your goal is to drive optimization, standardization, risk mitigation, and a smooth transition for our product through every step in the product lifecycle.

Education and experience

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Supply Chain, Quality Management, Industrial or Design Engineering, or equivalent experience. Certification in Project Management a plus

  • Work experience of more than 10 years of which more than 2 years in new product introductions

  • Experience in planning and logistics processes in a high-tech, low-volume environment

  • Experience in process improvement, continuous improvement

  • Experience in project management

  • Experience understanding and extrapolating requirements from technical production definition (TPD), also known as design data, and digital product definition (DPD), also known as CAD/CAM models

  • Ability to lead a risk analysis and mitigation plan in a structured, formalized manner

  • Experience in configuration control or engineering change management

  • Ability to create, understand, and improve metrics and Key Performance Indicators

  • Supplier Quality experience desired, but not required

  • Experience in Industrialization desired, but not required
