We are a high-tech company and leading supplier to the semiconductor industry. We manufacture the complex lithography machines that chip manufacturers use to produce integrated circuits or computer chips. What we do is at the heart of all electronic devices that inform, entertain, and connect us. At the Berlin site, more than 1,400 employees develop and manufacture key components for ASML lithography systems.
The Corporate Real Estate (CRE) Organization is responsible for the life cycle of the ASML infrastructure, installation and buildings. It plays a very decisive role in the development of the Berlin site. However, even with all this growth, the protection of human health and the environment is still paramount. Sustainability is one of our most important corporate values. 
The future CRE EHS team consists of members with individual expertise in specific sustainability, environmental, health and safety competencies. Joint as a team and in close collaboration we are able to support the business in all aspects of sustainability and energy.
You will support both senior and operational management mastering all sustainability challenges, and doing so contribute to embed sustainability as a key pillar of our strategy. This is one of our essential, long-term corporate objectives. In addition, you will manage our energy portfolio for our Berlin site. You will report to the CRE EHS manager Berlin.

Sustainability of the CRE organization

  • Strengthen our culture of sustainability

  • Develop and implement suitable sustainability measures

  • Regional contact for global sustainability programs

  • Support our circularity strategy and implementation down to concrete actions

  • Support our masterplan Circularity CRE

  • Monitor contentwise the quality of the execution and of the documentation of the circularity program

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations

  • Initiate continual improvements for our environmental protection

  • Maintain information systems interfacing with global CRE EHS on ESG and additional KPI 

  • Ensure that documents and reports on the one hand comply to environmental laws and regulations and on the other hand fulfill ASML standards 

  • Identify key CRE processes and strive to embed circularity activities in those processes 

  • Support project or competence teams to develop and implement reuse and recycling opportunities in construction and in services managed by CRE

  • Consult local departments and strategic purchase to select and purchase in the sense of good lifecycle

  • Review and communicate findings to CRE EHS management in Berlin and Veldhoven 

Energy management for the entire Berlin site

  • Responsible for the energy management according to ISO 50001

  • Ensure energy efficiency for machinery, plant and systems

  • Monitor energy use (EnEffCo) 

  • Develop potential for optimization and translate findings in actionable plans 

  • Enhance our energy management with respect to future requirements, challenges and activities

  • Support budget preparation

  • Performe the duties of the Energy Management Representative for the whole Berlin site

  • Manage the activities of the energy team

  • Successful certification to the energy management system according ISO 50001

  • Responsible for internal audits and management reviews as well as external monitoring and certification audits

  • Maintenance and further development of the key figures and measurement concept

  • Design, coordination and implementation of measures to increase energy efficiency

  • Compliance with energy efficiency criteria for investments in machinery and equipment

  • Ensuring legal compliance and documentation of the energy management system

  • Support and consult to tendering and purchasing of energy requirements for the German sites

  • Applying for tax refunds in accordance with EnergieStG and StromStG

  • Conducting training and employee information

Your profile

  • Completed sustainablilty related studies with a minimum of two years relevant work experience, or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience

  • Extensive sustainability and energy management experience in an industrial environment

  • Teamplayer with excellent communication skills

  • High degree of initiative, independence, business orientation, and decision-making ability

  • Analytical mindset, structured work methods and creativity to develop complex systems

  • Solution oriented approach with strong multi-disciplinary problem solving, project management and organizational skills

  • High quality awareness and sense of responsibility

  • Excellent written and spoken German and English
