Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct
ASML conducts business on the basis of fairness, good faith and integrity, and expect the same from parties with whom ASML does business. ASML decided to become a member of the Responsible Business Alliance and adopted the RBA code of conduct, please read our RBA Commitment Letter which can be downloaded below. The RBA is a coalition of the world’s leading electronics companies working together to improve efficiency and social, ethical, and environmental responsibility in the global supply chain. The RBA code of conduct provides guidance in four critical areas of CSR performance: Labor, Health & Safety, Environment and Ethics. These 4 elements shall be supported by a management system.
The RBA code of conduct includes, amongst other things, standards for human trafficking and slavery.
As a member of the RBA we also further cascade the requirements of the RBA in our supply chain. ASML’s major suppliers are therefore expected to acknowledge the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct and to actively pursue conformance to the Code.
ASML personally, not through a third party, carries out initial verifications of those suppliers, including regular announced audits, to evaluate compliance with RBA Code of Conduct. If suppliers fail to acknowledge the RBA Code of Conduct or fail to meet ASML underlying sustainability requirements a non-conformance report will be defined and ASML will engage its supplier to address and close the non-conformance with appropriate priority.
ASML Procurement Managers, with direct responsibility for supply chain management, received initial RBA Code of Conduct compliance training including training on how to assess and mitigate the risks thereof. Failure to follow the procedures set out in this training may result in disciplinary action.
