Introduction to the job

The SS&P SEA organization aims to increase technical collaboration with our suppliers and ASML D&E. Teams and departments will be located near customers, manufacturing and suppliers in China, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States. These teams will perform engineering activities for supplier development, factory engineering, NPI maturation and improvements to our installed base across all business lines.

In Singapore and Malaysia components, parts and modules for our DUV machines will be sourced as part of the DUV Cost Competitiveness program. These sourcing activities include both transfers as well as NPI sourcing . To secure the quality and output of these new the suppliers a team of local supplier development engineers will be set up. The team in Singapore and Malaysia will start at 6 FTE, is expected to grow to 15 FTE by 2026 and from there grow and develop further.

We offer you an engineering position in the Malaysia or Singapore team as part of the SS&P SEA organization. These positions are at local offices in Malaysia or Singapore, co-located with strategic sourcing & procurement teams and close to the suppliers. The teams report hierarchically into the SS&P SEA Organization.

Role and responsibilities

  • You are the technical interface between the engineering team and the supplier for the repair parts, components and modules. This includes both new parts as well as transfers. The role of supplier development engineer (SDE) contains both supplier quality engineering (SQE) and technical supplier management (TSM) responsibilities.

  • You partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure proactive quality management of several parts through early supplier involvement, design reviews and design for manufacturing, assembly, testing and cost.

  • Timely delivery of the required deliverables and documentation, such as statement of work, technical product document acceptance by supplier, proto evaluation reports, test coverage document, first article inspection, MFLOW, PFMEA and customer acceptance tests.

  • You are responsible to manage the material quality notification (MNs), deviation notices (DNs) and resolve part quality issues using problem solving techniques.

  • Contribute to the supplier development, improve operational excellence, drive improvement actions, and support supplier audits.

  • Monitor the performance of key parameters at the supplier and identify pro-active measures for outliers or drifting KPIs (SPC). TSM responsibilities:

  • Be part of the Supplier Account Team (SAT) and responsible for the technical section therein.

  • Drive the technology roadmap in the supplier base.

  • Identify the technical capabilities of the supplier and provide advice on strategic level

  • Own the T section of the supplier profile audit.

  • Identify and monitor continuous improvement plans together with suppliers.

  • Take part in decisions of new supplier selection.

Education and experience

Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in one of the following competences:
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Mechatronics, Robotics, Systems and Control
• Industrial Engineering

Experience with quality systems and methods (e.g. six sigma) and experience in engineering towards production processes is encouraged.

Skills
