vision & mission
Build for today,
develop for tomorrow
We collaborate with chipmakers to understand how our technology best fits their needs and challenges
Our vision
Our vision is a world where semiconductor technology is everywhere and helps to tackle some of society's toughest challenges.
We contribute to this vision by creating products and services that enable our customers to continually increase the value and reduce the cost of chips.

Our mission
We contribute to this goal by creating products and services that let our customers define the patterns that integrated circuits are made of, and we continuously raise the capabilities of our products, enabling our customers to increase the value and reduce the cost of chips.
By helping to make chips cheaper and more powerful, we help to make semiconductor technology more attractive for a larger range of products and services, which in turn enables progress in fields such as healthcare, energy, mobility and entertainment.
Why we exist
The invention of the integrated circuit in 1958 was a pivotal moment in human history. Connecting miniaturized electronic components on a slab of silicon, this first semiconductor chip ignited a race for its better, cheaper and more powerful successors.

We believe that semiconductor technology is a
force for good
Without it, there would be no smartphones, internet or modern aviation to connect us, wherever and whoever we are. There would be no satellites to better understand our planet, and none of the medical technology that helps to diagnose and treat disease.

ASML is a key player in the fast-paced industry that makes it all happen, since we are one of the world's leading manufacturers of chip-making machines. We provide chipmakers with hardware, software and services to mass produce patterns on silicon, increasing the value of a chip while lowering the manufacturing cost. All of the world's top chip companies are our customers, so chances are that every single day, you use semiconductor technology that was partly made on our machines.
