Introduction to the job
Supports, advises, coordinates, and executes work to empower Customs Operations in functioning efficiently and effectively, establishing robust processes, and improving operational capabilities.
The focus is on driving compliance and demonstrating performance through strategic initiatives and streamlined workflows.
Role and responsibilities
Acts as Customs Operations Professional for one specific area, typically providing support within the Customs Operations department.
Works within clearly defined policies, principles, and specific Customs Operations objectives, under the supervision of direct manager.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement Data Analytics and Business Intelligence capabilities.
- Create basic reports and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators.
- Train team members on new and existing basic processes.
- Contribute to market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Identify, evaluate and implement Trade & Compliance opportunities and process improvements
- Post management to ensure customs operation in compliance and report risks to manager
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to improve process and resolve the issue for long-term solution
- Knowledge about the policies and procedures related to work activities performed in area of responsibility(customs regulation, HT code, import/export requirement, FTA)
- Timely response to internal/external stakeholder’s inquiry on compliance issue
- Initiate the local project to improve the process and to save operational cost
- General support for global project
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, economics, finance or similar field and 8-10 years’ experience in a corporate environment.
- Experience in any of the following is required: Import, export, global logistics and internal controls(AEO program)
- Korea broker license is preferred
Skills
- Desire to work as a compliance professional to ensure customs operations compliance with laws and regulations. Our mission is to support the Company through our Customs program to ensure customs operations compliance with laws and regulations; you must be a person who can get behind this mission.
- Independent work initiative; ability to figure out solutions to problems and implement those solutions.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and to take direction and change course.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Detail-oriented, comfortable with data and able to understand complex rules and requirements.
- Strong sense of responsibility, supportive and open mind
- Knowledge about the policies and procedures related to work activities performed in area of responsibility(customs regulation, HT code, import/export requirements, FTA etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, MS office 365 and Outlook.
- Good written/spoken English
