Introduction to the job
In the D&E team, we have multiple D&E competences to support our factory and Asia suppliers to provide decent design solution or escalation support as local D&E team.
As a Mechatronics Design Engineer, your mission is to specify, realize and qualify the design on sub-systems involving robotics, mechatronics, precision mechanics, and/or opto-mechanics.
Work on the factory engineering design issue regarding Stages and robots.
Transfer diagnosis knowledge to manufacturing and develop Asia suppliers for ASML DUV business.
Responsible for the mechatronics engineering quality and structural issue of DUV modules.
Support the Manufacturing and Asia suppliers to meet the output , cost and quality requirements.
Role and responsibilities
Able to provide quick containment with data driven analysis for Mechatronics issues.
• Communicate upward and downward on regular basis to eliminate the communication gap.
• Understand proper escalation paths to appropriate stakeholders and acts accordingly.
• Have capability of issue intake and issue quality sanity check in technical for further explaining to D&E stakeholders.
• Present and highlight relevant information to key stakeholders.
• Able to assess and address technical risk for each design change based on input from PE/PLM/SCE to WLT DE/PL
• Flexibility for international travel and facilitator night calls is required.
• Evaluation of technical issues, risks, and dependencies for Projects and able to do mechatronics design in algorithm via Matlab.
• Able to write decent design document and complete design review with peers.
• Interfacing with customers and other stakeholders to gather a complete understanding of their requirements.
Education and experience
- Master Degree in Mechatronic Engineering/ Electrical Engineering is preferred with motion/servo control background.
- 3-5 years Industry experience within motion/stage/robot control domain.
- Candidate should have direct experience in the design and test of mechatronic systems/equipment.
- Familiar with MATLAB.
- Ability to apply “classical control theory” and “digital control theory” including frequency domain, stability (Nyquist/Bode plots), Velocity-Acceleration-Jerk (VAJ), feedback/feedforward, dynamics, gain and phase, transfer functions, continuous/discrete feedback control, real time controls, etc.

- Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with manager, co-workers and customers
- Strong technical writing and communication skills in English, including presenting results based on strong statistical evidence to audiences of a wide range of technical abilities.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
