Introduction

As a Quality Engineering Manager at ASML’s Wilton, CT site, you’ll play a key role in shaping the quality strategy for our Development & Engineering (D&E) division. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of ASML’s advanced lithography systems, which are essential to producing the world’s most powerful microchips.

You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team focused on improving product quality, engineering processes, and customer satisfaction. This is your opportunity to drive change, influence global quality standards, and contribute to ASML’s mission of enabling groundbreaking technology.

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a data-driven Quality Expert & Leader who can identify quality risks before new products are developed. In this role, you will lead a highly technical team with multidisciplinary engineering that include  mechatronic, electronic, mechanical and optics design focus while collaborating with internal stakeholders (Suppliers, Manufacturing, Customer Service) in the effort to drive solutions and change management to our external customers.

  • Define the Quality Strategy of the Wilton Development & Engineering Cluster, working together with Competence and Function owners who take operational responsibility within their departments and competences.
  • Develops, reviews and approves Quality Engineering objectives and creates plan of actions in alignment with the ASML Quality Organization.
  • Hires, retains, mentors and directs technically competent and engaged Quality Engineering resources to support the new product development (NPD), new product introduction (NPI), and Sustaining Development & Engineering teams.
  • Align Wilton Development & Engineering Quality Strategy with ASML D&E Global Quality roadmap and champion the Quality mindset.
  • Represent the voice of the customer by integrating feedback from service, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed quality into design and development processes
  • Directs resolution of Product Quality issues in Development & Engineering including effective correction, containment, root cause evaluation, corrective action, and risk assessment.
  • Promote a culture focused on reducing the cost of non-quality.
  • Detect issues and bottlenecks in the quality circle and drive their solution.
  • Enable the development staff to execute their accountability in Quality Control by maintaining and deploying department’s processes, providing regular reporting on process adherence to department managers, group leaders, and project leaders. Execute process assessments on key processes to drive data driven process improvements.
  • Execute process improvement projects as part of the quality strategy at department level and/or sector level.
  • Drive for continuous improvement; drive engineers to find root causes of technical issues and translate them into lessons learned. Drive competence leads/owners to translate lessons learned into guidelines, design rules or process improvements.
  • Supporting, reviewing and coaching projects and their engineers on the quality of technical solutions proposed and deliverables produced.
  • Lead customer and ISO audits representing the Development & Engineering US Wilton Organization.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in Quality Engineering such as: Quality Risk Management and Risk Assessments, FMEA, design verification, equipment qualification, process validation, design transfer, configuration management, and change control.
  • Identifies relevant Quality-related Training needs and devises a Training Plan to support comprehension and consistent application.
  • Promotes Quality Achievement and Improvements throughout the organization.

Education & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, optical, mechatronic, or industrial engineering. Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a technically complex, engineering environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in quality, project, or line management.
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as Six Sigma, FMEA, 8D, root cause analysis, and value stream mapping.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and SEMI standards.
  • ASQ certifications (e.g., CQE, CSSBB, CMQ/OE) are a plus.
  • Experience with risk management and project/program management.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
