Recently ASML has launched its transformation towards ASML Business Services (ABS) to deliver world-class transactional & operational support services organized around End to End (E2E) processes. Within Finance we have established the E2E cycles, Record to Report, Invoice to Pay, Market to Cash and Employee Financial Services.

To realize our ambition we are looking for a Financial Controller to strengthen our Finance Operations team responsible for System and UF Sales accounting including its related processes. As a Financial Controller, you will bring hands-on and pragmatic expertise, know how to ensure the right accounting, drive continuous process improvements and support the transition to our future ERP system.

It is a challenging position in a dynamic and internationally-oriented environment. You support the team in its transformation to deliver world-class end-to- end Record-To-Report process that ensures (external) compliance and supports management accounting for (better) decision making.


Team responsibility
Together with the team, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring appropriate accounting (US GAAP, IFRS & local statutory),
  • Ensure proper and timely execution of sales related accounting for ASML products (systems and options). Maintain and control related balance sheets;
  • Supporting the accounting and reporting related to complex contracts,
  • Monitor the execution, progress and balance positions related to volume price agreements using SAP, Spotfire, Mendix and SAPRAR tooling;
  • Perform period end close activities;
  • Proactively seek for continuous improvements in the execution of activities, improving efficiency and quality;
  • Driving compliance and performing internal (SOx) control activities,
  • Develop and demonstrate strong understanding of the sales processes, reflected in the reports, analysis and commentaries provided;
  • Being the key user for certain processes and systems.

Position in the organization
The Financial Controller - Finance Operations Sales Accounting is part of Finance Operations Europe within ASML Business Services. Financial Operations is responsible for the ASML wide E2E accounting processes, supporting the business and providing management reporting as well as ensuring external compliance. They interact with various departments and layers in and outside of finance.

Experience
You have 6+ years relevant experience in finance, preferably in a financial control or auditing environment. In addition, you have the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Controlling, Economics or Accounting.
  • Experience in working in an international, multinational environment. Having an audit experience in one of big 4 audit firms is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience with executing SOx controls
  • Expert user in Microsoft Excel and experience in SAP.
  • Experience in process mapping and process redesign.
