Job Introduction

This is a development and engineering role in ASML. You will work directly on product design with the engineers who design and update the latest generation

As a Reticle Handler (as known as Mask Handling Engineer), you’ll be part of the team responsible for solving technical challenges in the Top Main Module — a key mechanical system in our next-generation High NA EUV lithography machines (used to print the smallest features on computer chips).

You’ll be based in Korea and work closely with engineering teams in the U.S. (Wilton, CT) and the Netherlands (Veldhoven) to provide weekday round-the-clock support (24/5) for urgent technical escalations.

In addition to supporting technical escalations, you’ll proactively update the U.S. engineering team (Wilton D&E) on issue progress, suggest improvements, and help drive timely resolution. You’ll also ensure smooth handovers between global teams.

You’ll report to the local Korea-based D&E team, which is part of the EUV Performance and Integration group in Veldhoven. Your day-to-day work will be guided by project leaders and architects from the Wilton EXE Top Module team.

Job responsibilities

  • Act as the local technical expert for the EUV reticle handler (mask handling system), supporting both field and factory teams.
  • Collaborate with global engineers to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Analyze technical problems, propose solutions, and help implement improvements of EXE (our next-generation High NA EUV lithography machines) Top Main Module
  • Share insights and feedback with global teams to drive design enhancements.
  • Support engineers by developing diagnostics and troubleshooting tools.
  • Travel occasionally within Asia (up to 10%) for issue-based support.

Qualifications for the job

  • Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field (preferred).
  • 8-15 years of experience with advanced semiconductor equipment, especially in mask or wafer handling.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience with robotics, motion control, or servo systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/SIMULINK is a bonus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

This role will follow Wilton TMM field/factory escalation WoW and embedded into the project with reporting line into the D&E onsite team in Korea, located in Hwaseong-si.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
