Introduction

At DUV Prepack, we disassemble NXT machines in cleanroom cabins with teams of approximately five people per cabin. This is a physically demanding environment, positioned at the end of the production line, where delays are not an option. The pressure is high, and personal stress factors both at work and at home can further affect it. Our total team size is around 60 FTE employees. In recent years, we have been facing a persistently high illness rate, reaching up to 20% in the first quarter of 2025, which significantly impacts both team workload and the responsibilities of our team leaders. We believe it is time to take a closer look at our management style and operational routines. Our ultimate goal is to reduce the illness rate by improving how we work, lead, and support our teams.

Your Assignment

As an intern working on this assignment, you will investigate the factors contributing to high illness rates within the DUV Prepack team and propose solutions. Your work will focus on identifying root causes ranging from physical workload and shift structure to leadership practices and personal stress factors and recommending improvements that can lead to a healthier, more sustainable working environment.

Some key tasks include:

  • Looking into illness data and gathering more if required;

  • Analyzing current work routines and identifying stressors or inefficiencies;

  • Observing team leader responsibilities and how they influence the team by joining relevant meetings.

  • Reviewing leadership practices, workload distribution, and support mechanisms.

  • Engaging with team members to understand physical, mental, and organizational challenges.

  • Providing recommendations based on evidence/data or research to improve working conditions, team dynamics, and leadership effectiveness.

This is a Bachelor or Master graduation/apprentice internship for 5-6 months, 3-5 days per week. The start date of this internship is as soon as possible, around September 2025. The direction of the internship can be adapted based on your interests and strengths. Whether you are more drawn to process optimization, team dynamics, or leadership development, we are open to shaping the assignment accordingly.

Your profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

  • Are busy with your bachelor's or master's in Business or Management studies, or other relevant ones;

  • Are proactive and self-driven;

  • Are able to connect with people and understand their needs;

  • Are able to make use of data and if needed collect it;

  • Have experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;

  • Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;

  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
