Introduction

Within ASML, the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification and the development of ASML products. This exciting position is available in the Source Laser Light Generation group, that is part of the SW EUV Source department.

We are responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining software for Laser Light Generation, Amplification and Control. We deliver fundamental software components that go into ASML's EUV Machine Source, that produces the EUV light to project images of the reticle on to the wafer. This is a crucial step in the chip production process. 

Your assignment

You will define, document, implement, test and integrate a generic camera facility.


Definition and design:

  • Align with stakeholders

  • Define software requirements based on stakeholder input

  • Design the component based on your requirements

 
Documentation:

  • Document your requirements

  • Document your test strategy and test plan

  • Investigate possible designs and identify the most viable design

  • Document/Explain the design of the component

 
Implementation:

  • Implement the generic camera facility and automated tests

  • Thoroughly test your component on unit and component level

  • Integrate the component into the software archive

Your profile

To be a match for this internship, you:

  • Are a bachelor or master graduate student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related disciplines.

  • Are familiar with aspects of requirements engineering/management and have (some) experience in Python programming and C++.

  • Are familiar with Linux and VxWorks (nice-to-have).

  • Are a team player, a self-starter, complemented with can-do mentality

  • Are proficient in English and are communicative, eager to learn, efficient with reporting, proactive

This is a bachelor or master graduation internship for a minimum of 5 months, for 4 to 5 days per week (at least 3 days onsite). The start date of this internship is September 2025.

Other requirements you need to meet

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;

  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
