Introduction
Within ASML’s Customer Support (CS) organization, the Customer Supply Chain Management (CSCM) Quality department ensures the reliability and performance of service parts and tools used in the field. This team addresses critical quality issues such as Dead on Arrival (DoA), Prevented DoA, and Irregularity Reports (IRR), which are essential for reducing downtime and improving customer satisfaction. Currently, failure mode and symptom categorization across these processes lacks standardization, leading to fragmented reporting and limited ability to track and improve quality performance. To resolve this, CSCM Quality is launching an initiative to redefine and harmonize these categories across systems and stakeholders. This is an effort that will significantly enhance operational excellence and data-driven decision-making.
Your Assignment
As an intern, you will play a key role in driving this standardization initiative. You will work closely with stakeholders and leverage data analysis to create a robust categorization framework. Key deliverables include:
Define and standardize failure mode/symptom categories for IRR, DoA, Prevented DoA, and PMRs.
Align with stakeholders to ensure clarity and usability of the new structure.
Develop practical examples and user-friendly “how-to” guides for First Line Support (FLS).
Update reports and dashboards to reflect the new categorization.
Map legacy data to maintain continuity and historical insights.
Communicate changes effectively through documentation and presentations.
This is an internship (non-thesis) for a minimum of 6 months. It requires an investment of 24-32 hours per week, out of which 2 days per week are onsite in Veldhoven. It is set to start in February 2026.
