Introduction

Are you a Bachelor student in the direction of Electronics looking for a apprentice internship? Do you have experience with designing electronics? Then this internship might be interesting for you!

The EUV Illumination and Dose Control Electronics Group is working on the latest generation EUV scanners and is extremely high-tech in nature. In a number of projects, the team collaborates with engineers from other departments and disciplines including software, electronics, mechanics, optics, physics, testing/integration. This collaboration is needed in order to achieve the necessary complex results that the low-NA and high-NA EUV scanners demand.

Your assignment

An optical module operates in vacuum and features a number of temperature sensors for diagnostics. Examples are to monitor the cooling water temperature and the temperature of the mirrors. For next-generation systems, the goal is to replace analog temperature sensors with sensors using digital interfaces. The complete sensor should feature higher accuracy and extremely low power. Furthermore, the interface should support long cable lengths (up to 100 meters). This should save costs and offers better performance. This assignment includes cooperation with an external supplier. Hardware will have to be evaluated for usage in ASML scanners, resulting into a conclusion on feasibility and feedback for improvements.
