Introduction
The Mechanical Development cluster is responsible for the definition, realization and qualification of mechanical modules and (sub)systems within these products. Mechanical Vendor Components play an important role in realizing standardization in our systems. As a part of the cluster Mechanical Development, the group of Mechanical Component Engineering is responsible for qualification and maintenance of all the Mechanical Vendor Components (off-the-shelf components) in ASML systems. The Mechanical Component Engineering team maintains the hardware library of global ASML and promotes standardization of mechanical components.
Your assignment
Re-Use plays an important role in the sustainability roadmap of ASML by investigating efforts to realize circular material flows in close collaboration with our customer and suppliers and drive ASML to zero waste. Your project from Mechanical Component engineering is to investigate the feasibility of re-use in mechanical vendor components and identify how we can contribute to Re-Use of components.
For this assignment, your tasks will include:
Investigate and identify the feasibility of each vendor component part group for Re-Use
Identify the process requirements of Mechanical VCs that are feasible to be re-used
Collaborate with the Re-use program for guidance on opportunities for Re-Use of components
Formulate a Re-Use strategy for mechanical vendor components based on data collected
Investigate the implementation feasibility of the proposed strategies
Document your findings in a report
This is a bachelor graduation (thesis) or master apprentice (to gain work experience) internship, with a duration of 6 months. Starting date is in September '25.
Your profile:
To be a perfect match for this internship, you
Have background in mechanical, industrial, aerospace, chemical engineering, or materials science;
Have strong affinity with mechanical engineering and mechanical components;
Have a solution-oriented mindset and a hands-on approach;
Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written);
Other requirements you need to meet
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
