Product Development Engineer with focus Manufacturing
Your working environment
Your tasks
- Contribution to the process chain development.
- Analysis of process risks for product manufacturability e.g. contribution to the Process-FMEA overview and delivery, together with architect / lead engineer.
- Detail out the manufacturing concepts based on given requirements.
- Feedback to functional group on the impact of the manufacturing process on product function.
- Supervise prototypes especially with regard to issues and their analysis, be physically present at the shop floor with the prototypes in case of issues such as deviations from specification.
- Trigger and support process improvements according to the needs of the prototypes in collaboration with Product Development Technology, operations e.g. Produktverantwortlicher, Prozessingenieur and other operators.
- Build up documentation of the process chain and process steps in total or sub sections to be handed over to production:
- Documentation of prototype trouble shootings and findings (initiate Problem, Containment, Cause, Solution, Implementation, work on issue resolution management)
- Cycle Time definition and documentation, Visual Inspection for Prototypes, Delivery of NPI Proto manufacturing documentation.
- Working in interdisciplinary, cross-departmental teams.
- Represent development project on the shopfloor.
Your qualifications
- You have a Bachelor or master in physics, mechanical engineering, material science, or a comparable technical diploma with a strong background in mechanics.
- You have knowledge or practical experience in product development for precision engineering
- You have knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies connected to polishing, milling, surface coatings etc. and specifically for processing brittle materials.
- You have in-depth understanding of the physical properties of glass, ceramics, and glass-ceramics.
- You have Experience in qualification and surface measurement technologies.
- You have good communication skills in German and English.
