S.K. McIntosh to join ASML

Press release - Veldhoven, the Netherlands, November 14, 2000

ASM Lithography Holding NV today announces that S.K. McIntosh will be joining ASML on December 15, 2000, as executive vice president of operations and president of the  lithography division. It is intended that McIntosh will become a member of the Board of Management. He will take responsibility for the operations of the company and will have a prime role in managing the recently announced proposed merger with Silicon Valley Group, Inc. (SVG).

 

Doug J. Dunn, chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ASML comments: "We are very happy to have Mr. McIntosh join us. With his 28 years of experience in the Semiconductor Industry, he will make a valuable contribution to the strategic direction and operations of ASML at an important time in the development of the company."

 

McIntosh is Chief Operations Officer at Royal Philips Electronics (Philips), Semiconductors Division and Member of the Management Team of the Division. Furthermore, McIntosh is chairman of the Board of Directors of SSMC, a joint venture company based in Singapore between Royal Philips Electronics, the Economic Development Board of Singapore and TSMC; a member of the Board of Directors of ASMC in Shanghai; and member of the Board of Directors of International Sematech in Austin, Texas. Prior to joining Philips in 1994, McIntosh worked for Motorola Semiconductors, General Instruments and GEC Plessey Semiconductor.
