Starting with the coming 2022 edition of the Eindhoven Marathon, ASML will be the title partner of the largest two-day sports event in the southern part of the Netherlands. The partnership will be effective for 2022, 2023, and 2024. The Eindhoven Marathon traditionally takes place on the second weekend of October – this year, it will be held on Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9. Starting today, you can register for the various walking and running events at www.asmlmarathoneindhoven.nl.
As the largest employer in the Brainport Eindhoven region, ASML encourages its 17,000 employees in the region to take part in the marathon as runners, volunteers or trainers to help prepare others to participate. "Sports spark a flame in everyone, no matter where they come from or what their background is," says Maaike Yark, community engagement program manager at ASML. "In the coming years, we want to help more Eindhoven residents than ever before to set sporting goals and get moving, and to find more ways to get fun, vitality and connection out of this event."
ASML's commitment is in line with the Eindhoven Marathon's ambitions. "With our walking and running event, we want to promote vitality, liveability, and social cohesion. We want to make it easy to participate in the event," says Remco Barbier, CEO of Golazo Nederland, the event’s organizer.
The municipality of Eindhoven also extended its connection to the ASML Marathon Eindhoven for another three years. Sports alderman Stijn Steenbakkers: “The Eindhoven Marathon has been a sports celebration for the entire city for years. Anyone can be a part of the event, no matter how fast or how far you walk. That’s also why the government extended the sponsorship agreement with Golazo by three years. It’s great news that ASML is part of this! ASML shows that sports, companies and vitality go hand in hand. In Eindhoven we really work together, as companies, government, knowledge institutions and organizations. I am proud of that and I look forward to a great marathon weekend in our city.”
Last year, nearly 20,000 people took part in the marathon. In addition to participating, supporting the event as a spectator is also an important aspect for ASML. Even if you’re not a runner, you’re welcome to cheer the participants on and make it a fun day.

Program for Saturday, October 8
This year, on Saturday, October 8, people can take part in the ‘Renewi Plogging Run’, ‘Your Marathon Challenge’, and a 12-km or 18-km walk. During the Plogging Run, participants will have the opportunity to run the marathon course while cleaning up litter and other trash in preparation for the event. In Your Marathon Challenge, walkers can complete the last 1.195 km of their marathon (having already completed the first 41 km at their own pace).

On Sunday, October 9, the races are off! In addition to the main marathon, participants are invited to join the ‘Mini Marathon’ for kids (1.6 km), ‘Business Runs’, half marathon, quarter marathon and 5K.
