The Manufacturing – DUV XT Technical Support Engineer plays a high-impact role in ensuring stable and efficient production performance of XT (DUV) platforms in Linkou. This position acts as a technical problem owner within defined scope, responsible for driving structured troubleshooting, developing solution approaches, and restoring system performance under production pressure.
The role requires strong analytical capability and ownership mindset to bridge execution and technical decision preparation, working closely with Manufacturing, Production Engineering, and Development & Engineering teams. In addition to resolving operational issues, this position contributes to system-level understanding, continuous improvement, and capability building, serving as a key talent pipeline toward advanced technical roles within XT manufacturing.
Role and responsibilities
Technical Ownership & Advanced Troubleshooting
Act as a technical problem owner within assigned scope, responsible for end-to-end resolution of XT system disturbances.
Perform structured root-cause analysis using system data, logs, and failure mechanisms.
Develop and propose solution approaches, including containment and recovery strategies.
Ensure fast restoration of system performance while maintaining quality and output targets.
System-Level Problem Solving (Within Scope)
Analyze system behavior across subsystems (mechanical, electrical, control) to identify root causes.
Provide structured technical recommendations for solution direction and escalation.
Support senior engineers and competency stakeholders by preparing clear technical inputs for decision-making.
Continuous Improvement & Structural Prevention
Identify recurring issues and contribute to closing structural gaps within defined technical areas.
Initiate improvement actions to reduce cycle time, improve stability, and enhance reliability.
Support implementation of best-known methods (BKM) within own competence.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Influence
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, and Development teams on technical issues.
Influence solution direction within own scope through structured analysis and communication.
Represent technical findings in internal discussions with clarity and logical reasoning.
Knowledge Development & Coaching
Develop and deliver training materials related to troubleshooting and system behavior.
Share technical learnings and best practices across teams.
Support onboarding and mentoring of junior engineers to strengthen team capability.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or related disciplines.
3–5 years of experience in a high-tech production, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and diagnosis of complex systems or equipment.
Solid understanding of failure analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and quality mindset.
Ability to perform structured analysis using data and logical reasoning to identify root causes.
Demonstrated ownership and accountability in resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
Good communication skills for effective collaboration and technical discussion across teams.
Basic English proficiency for technical communication and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in semiconductor equipment, precision systems, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
Solid troubleshooting experience in complex systems involving multiple subsystems.
Familiarity with structured RCA methodologies and data-driven problem solving.
Exposure to system-level thinking and cross-functional technical collaboration.
Demonstrated ownership, strong logical thinking, and ability to work under pressure.
Good English communication skills for technical discussion and reporting
Other Information
Shift work:
This role supports multiple manufacturing teams with different shift patterns.
During the interview process, both teams will participate in the evaluation.
Final team placement will be discussed and aligned with the candidate based on mutual fit.
Shift Pattern A team:
Rotating shift covering 7 days per week (7x16), with approximately 50% Day shift (08:00–17:00) and 50% Night shift (16:00–01:00).
Rest days are assigned on a rotating basis and may fall on weekdays or weekends.
Shift Pattern B team:
4 days on / 3 days off rotation
Day shift: 06:00–17:00
Night shift: 16:00–03:00
Shift rotation every three weeks
Built-in and guaranteed days off, including regular weekend time-off, through fixed schedules:
Schedule 1: Sunday–Wednesday (off Thursday–Saturday)
Schedule 2: Wednesday–Saturday (off Sunday–Tuesday)
