Introduction
You will join the TF EHS team within the TWINSCAN Factory in Veldhoven. This team is responsible for safeguarding a safe and healthy working environment while ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. The TF EHS team drives proactive risk management, continuous improvement, and strong safety culture across factory operations.
During this internship, you support the team in exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance recurring EHS activities. Your work contributes to more efficient, data‑driven EHS processes and supports the transition toward smarter ways of working within a high‑tech manufacturing environment.
Your assignment
In this internship, you explore how daily EHS workflows can be improved through the use of artificial intelligence. You gain insight into how EHS processes are structured, how data is used, and where opportunities exist to reduce manual effort and improve effectiveness. You collaborate closely with EHS professionals and translate observations into practical, value‑adding improvement ideas.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Map and document recurring EHS activities within the TF EHS team (e.g. incident management, inspections, reporting, training follow‑up).
Analyze EHS workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities.
Gather process insights through interviews, observations, and review of EHS data and reports.
Research artificial intelligence applications relevant to EHS and operational risk management.
Propose concrete AI use cases that support prevention, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Assess feasibility, potential impact, and risks of proposed solutions in an EHS context.
Clearly present findings and recommendations to the TF EHS team and key stakeholders.
This is a non-thesis bachelor or masters internship for minimum 6 months,
minimum 5 days per week ( 3 days on‑site). The start date of this internship is as of September 2026.
Your profile
To be suitable for the internship, you:
Are a bachelor’s or master’s student.
Study artificial intelligence, data science, industrial engineering, or a closely related field.
Have strong analytical skills and enjoy structured problem solving.
Communicate clearly and collaborate easily with different stakeholders.
Show curiosity, initiative, and a proactive approach to emerging technologies.
Are experienced with Python and have AI skills.
Other requirements you need to meet:
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
