Introduction

ASML’s Legal & Compliance department works as a global team that supports ASML’s long‑term success. The team focuses on smart collaboration, ethical behavior, and proactive support to the business. You will join a department that provides strategic guidance, protects ASML’s assets, and promotes a strong culture of integrity. As part of the Competition & FDI team, you will contribute to global compliance efforts by supporting research, awareness activities, and regulatory monitoring. This Law internship offers you the chance to learn from specialists while making a real impact.

Your assignment

During this Law internship, you will support the Competition & FDI team with research, analysis, and awareness activities. You will help monitor regulatory developments, contribute to communication materials, and assist with day‑to‑day tasks that strengthen ASML’s compliance programs. You will work in a dynamic environment where accuracy, curiosity, and collaboration are important. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Monitor global competition and related regulatory developments.

  • Map regulatory frameworks and summarize key legal changes.

  • Support awareness activities, including training materials and toolkits.

  • Help develop communication content on competition and regulatory topics.

  • Conduct legal research on competition law and foreign direct investment.

  • Support the team with presentations, briefings, and internal updates.

  • Assist with ad‑hoc projects where legal and compliance knowledge is needed.

This is a master’s non‑thesis internship for a minimum of 6 months, minimum of 3 days per week (hybrid). The start date of this internship is 1st of August.

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:

  • Are pursuing a master’s degree in law, preferably with a focus on competition law.

  • Show interest in competition law, regulatory topics, and technology.

  • Are available for a minimum internship duration of six months.

  • Work in a proactive, analytical, and collaborative way.

  • Communicate clearly in written and spoken English.

  • Are comfortable in a multicultural and fast‑changing environment.

  • Use sound judgment and provide solution‑oriented, practical input

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
