Introduction to the Role

We are looking for an Operational Technology Security Domain Architect to strengthen our architecture capabilities within the Risk, Business Assurance & Security (RBA&S) organization. In this role, you will shape the future of operational technology security by defining a clear architectural vision.  and translating it into secure, scalable, and compliant solutions.

You will operate at the intersection of technology, security, and business, using your influence to drive architectural evolution in a complex, high‑tech environment.

Role and Responsibilities

Architecture within RBA&S provides the strategic framework for secure and compliant solution delivery through Reference and Target Architectures and Incremental System Architectures.

As an Operational Technology Security Domain Architect, you will:

  • Define and maintain the operational technology security vision, strategy, and long‑term roadmap aligned with business and operational needs.
  • Design and communicate high‑level operational technology architectures that support secure operations, innovation, and lifecycle management.
  • Translate current and future stakeholder needs into clear architectural blueprints and decision frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment with operational IT and operational technology processes, focusing on security, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive architectural alignment and adoption by collaborating closely with business, IT, operational technology, and security stakeholders.

Education and Experience

To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • A Master’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in operational technology or hybrid IT/operational technology environments.
  • Proven experience as a System Architect or Operational Technology Architect in complex, high‑tech organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of industrial control systems, and secure operational technology network architectures.
  • Experience with architecture frameworks and modeling (e.g. ArchiMate, TOGAF, ISA‑95, NIST CSF).

  • Strong architectural, technical, and system leadership capabilities.
  • In‑depth understanding of operational technology security, risk management, and compliance.
  • Excellent decision‑making and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with architecture design and modeling tools.
  • The ability to communicate effectively across technical, business, and security domains.

Additional Information

  • Certifications such as GICSP or ISA/IEC 62443 are highly preferred.
  • Agile or SAFe certification is preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban; SAFe is a plus).
  • A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is required for this role.
  • This position is based in the Netherlands (Veldhoven). The employee will report to the Security 2nd Line manager for OT/ICS and will be part of the Risk & Business Assurance & Security organization.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
