A broad supplier network

85% of the parts in our machines are produced by our suppliers, and when it comes to relationships, we’re in it for the long run. This means that suppliers are involved in our product development from the early stages, helping us to deliver the most effective solutions. For example, our innovation partnerships with the German lens manufacturer ZEISS and others date back to our early years. The bulk of our suppliers are located in the Netherlands and EMEA, but we rely on a large and growing network in North America and Asia. Most of our supply chain investment is concentrated on around 200 ‘critical’ suppliers.

Cross-departmental collaboration

Our Sourcing & Supply Chain colleagues work with people from nearly every single department in ASML. They align closely with R&D to ensure the manufacturability of our designs, and collaborate with Customer Support to make sure our customers have the parts they need.

“I really like working in Sourcing & Supply Chain because it's a dynamic environment, that involves flexibility and outside-the-box thinking. My colleagues are highly ambitious and we work closely to achieve supply chain excellence."

– Andreea El Bouazzaoui, supplier quality manager

Sustainability & waste reduction

We work with our suppliers to understand how products are sourced and to ensure that the principles of sustainability are upheld. Together, we meet or exceed requirements set out in the RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) Code of Conduct.

We retrieve old parts from our customer sites and re-use, repair and learn from them as much as we can. Our supplier sustainability program holds our suppliers to standards for carbon emissions and waste reduction.
